18 June 2019 at Multimodal, NEC Birmingham
Artificial intelligence, high-speed freight trains and how reducing emissions can save companies money, are just three of the topics being covered at this year’s RFG Summer Meeting, held during the Multimodal Exhibition at the NEC Birmingham.
Rail freight, ports and terminals are inextricably linked, and Multimodal 2019 presents the perfect opportunity for stakeholders from across the sector to come together and tackle the latest opportunities and challenges impacting intermodal freight.
The meeting takes place on the afternoon of Tuesday 18 June in the Piazza Suites 1-3, just outside the exhibition hall. It kicks off at 12.30 with a networking lunch, with the meeting itself starting at 13.30.
This year our speakers come from businesses united by a desire to ‘do things differently’.
- The Rail Operations Group will introduce its new business, Orion, which aims to move rail freight into high speed retail logistics with significant investment in rolling stock and services.
- Gary Hunter from Elastacloud will explore how data analytics is already helping some companies in rail move ahead with predictive assessments, and will describe how this could benefit freight.
- iPort Rail looks at how new facilities are already driving new services and will discuss future opportunities
- Andy Cotton of BG of GB, Powerflow Ltd will discuss how rail can reduce its fuel use and carbon emissions, increasingly vital in today’s political environment.
Further speakers will be announced in due course.
The RFG Pavillion will be located in the heart of the exhibition hall and will be our focal hub for networking and meeting other RFG members.
