The container terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie (near Wrocław) is a road and rail terminal located in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The terminal is a part of the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor which runs through six European Union countries - Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Italy and Slovenia. This corridor connects the Baltic ports in Gdynia, Gdańsk, Szczecin and Świnoujście with the Adriatic ports in Trieste, Venice, Ravenna and Kopra.
Currently, there are four special economic zones near the container terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie:
- Kamienna Góra Special Economic Zone for Medium Business;
- Legnica Special Economic Zone;
- Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone "INVEST-PARK";
- Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone "EURO-PARK WISŁOSAN". .
Schavemaker Intermodal is a company belonging to the Schavemaker Group founded in 1967 in the Netherlands. Schavemaker Intermodal has been operating on the Polish market since 2004, and since 2007 it has been the owner and operator of the Terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie. The Schavemaker Group has over 200 own trucks, 2 container terminals and nearly 60,000 m2 of warehouse area in the Netherlands and Poland
