Multimodal 2026 Visitor Guide: The UK's Leading Logistics Event

Your guide to Multimodal 2026 at the NEC, 30 June to 2 July. Plan your visit, conference sessions, the Awards and the co-located UK Logistics Week shows.

Multimodal is the UK’s leading logistics event, and in 2026 the show brings the transport, supply chain and cargo community back to the NEC for three days of new discoveries, conference sessions and networking. Since 2008, this event has been the industry’s meeting place, and this year it sits at the centre of UK Logistics Week, with the co-located Warehouse and Yard expos and the eDelivery Expo (eDX) under one roof.

Who should attend

Multimodal is a must for the people who move goods and keep UK logistics moving. If your work touches any link in the UK logistics chain, there is a reason to visit.

Freight forwarders, 3PLs, carriers, industry leaders, and port operators come to meet customers and partners across road, rail, sea and air, while warehousing, fulfilment and last-mile professionals have more reason than ever to attend in 2026 with Warehouse, Yard and eDX co-locating.

What’s more, our attendees also discover new technology and equipment that provides new and improved ways to operate more efficiently.

Whatever business you are in, you will find answers and connections across the show. For the full picture of what is on, see the Visit page.

The show floor is only part of the story. The conference programme, the Awards and the Mixer there is plenty to see over three jam-packed days at the NEC in Birmingham.

Over 300 exhibitors fill the hall across every mode and every link in the chain, from road, rail, sea and air freight through to ports, customs, warehouse technology, TMS and WMS platforms and last-mile services. It is the one place where you can test, compare and evaluate what is available, and meet the providers behind it, in one place.

Each year brings leaders in the industry with more than 80 free-to-attend conference sessions across the three days, presented by the likes of Logistics UK, BIFA, UKWA, RFG, CILT, CIOE&IT, the Cold Chain Federation and the RHA. Sessions cover policy, green tech, automation, technology and the practical realities of running supply chains today. Grow with Google also hosts sessions and one-to-one mentoring on the floor, and CPD hours can be earned across the programme. Check the latest line-up on the Conferences page and Speakers page.

An area that everyone is interested in is AI. This is one of the defining themes across all industries, especially logistics. Over three days, our illuminating sessions explore every facet of the supply chain, including how artificial intelligence is being applied in real logistics operations, from demand forecasting and route planning to customs, fulfilment, and warehouse automation.

Satalia's Predictive Shipping: How AI Forecasts Demand, Route, and Delivery Times looks at how predictive modelling is helping retailers cut late and missed deliveries, while Grow with Google's Practical AI for your Business is a hands-on starting point for anyone weighing up where to begin. For the bigger picture, the Logistics UK panel From Automation to Adaptation: Skills in the Age of AI examines how the industry is balancing AI adoption with skills, jobs and cost pressures.

Whether you are just getting started or already running pilots, our AI seminars are just a taste of the real-world information you can take home and implement in your business.

The Multimodal Awards take place on the first evening of the show, Tuesday 30 June 2026, at The VOX, NEC, bringing together 800 or more industry contenders, VIPs and colleagues for the night many regard as the highlight of the event. The 2026 finalists have been announced across 13 categories spanning air, road, rail and sea freight, ports, technology, sustainability, warehousing, diversity, customs and the next generation of logistics professionals, and they are voted for by the industry through an independent system. All of this hosted by the one and only, Rory Bremner.

See the Awards page for the finalist list, booking, and event timings.

The Multimodal Mixer is the Wednesday networking session in Hall 4, with drinks and nibbles, open to visitors and exhibitors alike. It is an easy, informal way to carry on conversations started on the floor. Details are on the Mixer page.

New for 2026, Multimodal has a purpose-built, fully web-based event app available via a QR code or a link. It gives you the live exhibitor list, conference sessions and speaker line-up, integrates with your calendar so you can plan sessions in advance, and lets visitors and exhibitors request meetings with one another directly, both before and during the show. It is the simplest way to arrive with a plan rather than working it out on the day.

Co-located events and UK Logistics Week

In 2026 the UK logistics industry converges at the NEC like never before. Multimodal leads UK Logistics Week, and several events sit alongside it so you can cover far more of the chain in a single trip.

H3: Under one roof at the NEC

  • Warehouse (formerly IWLEX) – the warehousing-focused expo, co-locating in an adjacent connected hall.
  • Yard (formerly YARDX) – the yard-management expo, also in the adjacent hall.
  • eDX (eDelivery Expo), the delivery and fulfilment arm of IRX, joining Multimodal under one roof for 2026 with a focus on last-mile logistics for online retailers and brands.

A short ride away

  • Road Transport Expo (RTX) runs concurrently at Stoneleigh Park, linked to Multimodal by a free shuttle bus.

One badge, one trip, far more of the supply chain covered. For the full picture of how the week fits together, see the UK Logistics Week page.

The NEC is one of the best-connected venues in the UK, sitting next to Birmingham Airport and Birmingham International station, with direct motorway access. Hall 4 is signposted from the main entrances.

Birmingham International station is a short, covered walk from the NEC halls and is served by direct services from London, the South East, the North West and Scotland. It is the easiest option for most visitors travelling any distance.

Birmingham Airport is adjacent to the NEC and connected to the station and halls by the free Air-Rail Link, making it straightforward for international visitors and those travelling from further afield in the UK.

The NEC sits at the junction of the M42, M6 and A45, with extensive on-site parking. Allow extra time on the Tuesday morning, as the first day and the Awards evening make it the busiest of the three.

There are hotels on the NEC campus and a wide choice within a short distance, in Solihull, Birmingham city centre and around the airport. On-site and Genting/Resorts World options are the most convenient if you are attending the Awards or want to be first onto the floor each morning.

Book early, as the co-located events mean demand across the week is higher than in previous years. Current recommendations and booking links are on the Hotels page, and full directions are on the Travel page.

The visitors who get the most from Multimodal plan before they arrive. A little preparation turns three busy days into a focused, productive trip.

Before you go:

  1. Register in advance through the Visit page so your badge is ready and you skip the queues on arrival.
  2. Open the event app as soon as you receive the link, browse the exhibitor list and speaker line-up, and add the sessions you care about to your calendar.
  3. Request your meetings early. Use the app’s two-way meeting tool to lock in time with exhibitors and other visitors before the floor fills up.
  4. Check the floorplan and map a route between your priority stands, the conference theatres and the co-located halls so you are not crossing the venue repeatedly.

On the day:

  • Arrive for the 10:00 opening if you have a full agenda; the floor is calmest first thing and busiest mid-afternoon.
  • Build in buffer time between meetings; conversations on the floor tend to run on, which is usually a good sign.
  • Mix planned sessions with time to walk the floor. Some of the most useful conversations are with exhibitors you had not planned to see.
  • Keep the Wednesday evening free for the Mixer, and the Tuesday evening for the Awards if you have a seat.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated; Hall 4 is large and three days on your feet adds up.

From freight forwarding to yard management, warehouse automation to last-mile delivery, Multimodal 2026 is where every link in the UK logistics chain comes together. UK Logistics Week runs from 30 June to 2 July 2026 at Hall 4, NEC Birmingham. Register free, plan your three days and book your Awards seats from the Visit page.
