Unsworth has started 2025 with a bang, by opening for business in Liverpool.

This strategic expansion into the UK’s Northwest region represents a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory and aligns with Unsworth’s ambitious goals for 2025 and beyond.

The new Liverpool branch will strengthen Unsworth’s presence in a key region, enhancing support for both current and future clients, while reinforcing its commitment to providing seamless, high-quality services across the UK and Ireland.

This move is part of Unsworth’s ongoing investment in its network, which has seen the recent launch of its Heathrow branch to support air freight operations, ensuring clients nationwide benefit from the company’s reputation for innovation, expertise, and reliability.

Unsworth has recruited three highly skilled professionals to lead the charge in Liverpool.

Mark Cox, has joined as director of the Liverpool branch. He brings over 25 years experience within the freight and logistics industry, in particular with significant experience in the West Africa region. Mark will drive the commercial development of the Liverpool branch, ensuring its continued success and growth.

Joe Edwards also joins as business development manager, a similar position to one that he had held for over six years at his previous company. Joe brings a dynamic approach to the team, dedicated to strengthening client relationships and identifying new growth opportunities for the company across the region.

The third member of the senior management at the new office is Cesar Caicedo who has taken on the role of procurement manager.  With more than a quarter of a century of experience in the logistics industry in shipping line and forwarder roles, Cesar has a deep understanding of procurement processes and global markets. He joins from an export procurement role.

The opening of the Liverpool office complements Unsworth’s existing locations in London, Ipswich, and Heathrow. Additionally, the company’s strategic expansion into the trade with Ireland where it has its own hub has bolstered its customs brokerage services, offering clients enhanced support across key European markets.

“We’re excited to establish a stronger presence in Liverpool, a key location in the Northwest,” said Richard Hogg, the company’s chief executive officer. “This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to growth, improving our service delivery, and supporting our customers with tailored solutions.

“With our talented team in place at the heart of one of the country’s main logistics gateways,  we’re confident this new office will contribute significantly to the success of Unsworth and our continued growth within the region’s freight and logistics sector.”

Unsworth’s expansion into Liverpool highlights its proactive approach to meeting the needs of an ever-evolving market, reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in freight forwarding and customs brokerage.
