TEG makes electric fleets searchable across its 10,000 member carrier network

TEG, the carrier sourcing platform for enterprise logistics, has introduced electric vehicle support across its platform. Carriers can now tag their electric vehicles, which carry a leaf icon when they quote on a load, and businesses posting freight can filter for that icon at the point of sourcing.

TEG research found that 67% of 3PLs identify sustainability as a pressing procurement challenge, with large shippers and manufacturers passing emissions requirements down to their logistics providers. Yet the businesses that need freight moved have had no reliable way to find carriers running electric vehicles at scale.

Electric vehicles already on the platform have covered more than half a million miles on TEG allocated loads, activity that until now was invisible to the businesses looking for it.

Empty running accounts for around 30% of haulage vehicle miles according to Department for Transport figures.

"Electrification alone does not remove waste. Utilisation, not fleet size, is the real measure of an efficient operation, and an electric vehicle returning empty still carries the same cost as any other," said Lyall Cresswell, Founder and CEO of TEG and Trustd.

"Sustainability has moved from something our members talk about to something they are asked to prove. What was missing was a reliable way to find the operators who have already invested."

Buying an electric fleet outright is beyond most operators, so everyone else has to source electric capacity as they need it. Until now that capacity was effectively invisible, with electric vehicles looking no different from any other at the point of sourcing. The feature changes that.

It builds on the automated CO2 emissions estimation TEG introduced in June 2026, which applies the UK Government's DESNZ conversion factors to each journey. Businesses can now find lower emission carriers and account for the emissions of the freight they move in the same place.

Businesses can also search the member directory for electric capacity without posting a load at all. The first phase covers fully electric vehicles. Further phases will extend the labelling to hybrids and alternative fuels, alongside changes to load posting that help electric operators assess whether they can take a job, including the route and charging criteria a load requires.
