Simpex Express has announced the acquisition of PJL Freight Solutions Limited

PJL has been merged into the Simpex Leeds office from 1st August 2023 with all activities going forward under the Simpex name.

PJL was founded by Phil Linley in 2008 with an emphasis on great customer and personal service, building on his many years’ experience in air and sea freight.

Phil Linley, Managing Director, PJL said:

“It was last year that I started thinking about stepping down from PJL after over 40 years in the industry and having worked with Simpex as a supplier for some time, I could see how ‘customer focused’ they were and thought they would be the perfect fit to acquire PJL. It’s a great comfort that when the time comes to move on, I know the PJL customers will be in very good hands.

“Since spending a little time with the Simpex team this year, I feel the combination of experience and services we offer as a group will really benefit all involved”.

Celebrating 10 years in August, the Simpex Leeds office strengthened its team in February with the appointment of Anita Thewliss. With Anita’s strong background in air and sea, her arrival has been embraced/welcomed in anticipation for PJL’s arrival.

Dave Brown, General Manager, Simpex Express (Leeds) added:

“PJL has a great reputation with their clients for excellent customer service and this completely aligns with our business. They will bring volume and expertise to our air and sea freight services, which have been growing year-on-year, and we’re hopeful of being able to introduce their clients to our well known road express services too.”

With PJL’s vast experience of global air freight, sea freight - including FCL, LCL, project cargo, export packing, cross trade, and customs clearance - Simpex is more confident than ever in assisting any client, with any enquiry, to any destination
