With the acquisition of Global Freight Connections (GFC), based in Basildon, Basel-based Schneider is strengthening its activities in the UK market and in the Greater London area.

The medium-sized freight forwarding company GFC was founded in 2002 by Paul Marshall and offers a full range of logistics services: high-quality solutions in land transport Europe, sea and air freight, as well as for general cargo, FTL and part loads, express transport, logistics and e-commerce. Customs services for the UK (Basildon/Dover) complement the portfolio and are an important factor for Schneider’s continental European branches.

Even before the takeover, there was active cooperation with various members of the Schneider Group, especially with the French branches and with Glob-Sped in Switzerland.

Martin Isler, COO Road, commented:

“Due to the already very good contacts on different levels, we know the company culture and professionalism of GFC and its employees. We are therefore convinced that together with GFC we can further develop and expand our services in England in a targeted manner.”

The price of the transaction was not disclosed.

The Schneider Group is a medium-sized international transport company, founded in 1865 and employing more than 800 people in Europe, USA and Asia
