Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has announced the establishment of its first office in Ireland, yet again expanding its European footprint. This new office will enhance SGL’s service offerings in a critical trade region and provide comprehensive logistics solutions to support both local and international customers.

The global freight forwarder Scan Global Logistics accelerates its growth strategy in Europe by adding Ireland to its global footprint. Due to its strategic location, Ireland is well-known as an ideal logistics hub for companies involved in Transatlantic trade, providing direct access between both North American and European markets.

“Our expansion into Ireland marks another step in the development of our regional network,” says Lars Syberg, CEO of EMEA at Scan Global Logistics.

“This growth reflects our strategic focus on enhancing our capabilities across key markets, allowing us to provide comprehensive, tailored logistics solutions. By building a strong presence in Ireland and expanding our regional footprint, we are better positioned to support our customers’ needs and drive long-term growth in the region.”

Ireland’s strategic location as a gateway between North America and Europe offers unique opportunities for Transatlantic trade, reinforcing SGL’s ability to provide comprehensive and tailor-made logistics solutions for international markets.

“Ireland is a key market for us. Its proximity to major trade lanes and position as a Transatlantic gateway within air and ocean transport makes it ideal for supporting our global growth goals,” added Neil Murray, Managing Director of UK and Ireland.

The office will be headed by Scott Darcy, the newly appointed Ireland Country Director, under the leadership of Neil Murray, Managing Director for the UK & Ireland.

“Our mission is to uncomplicate our customers' logistics challenges by delivering efficient, dependable, and forward-thinking solutions,’ Neil Murray continues. ’Establishing a presence in Ireland enhances our ability to meet customer needs with greater agility locally and globally.”

With the opening of SGL in Ireland and plans for further team expansion, the global logistics provider is laying the groundwork for sustainable growth in the region.

The expansion reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to building a stronger global network. Earlier this year, the company expanded into Italy by acquiring Foppiani Shipping & Logistics and establishing a presence in Saudi Arabia.
