The owner-managed logistics company Röhlig Logistics has expanded its global network by opening a new subsidiary in Dublin, Ireland. After over 20 years of successful collaboration, Röhlig has acquired a majority shareholding in its former agent, AirOcean Ireland, effective 1 August 2024. Starting in January 2025, the company will operate as Röhlig Ireland.
Ulrike Baum, Member of the Global Executive Board at Röhlig Logistics, explains:

Establishing our own office in Dublin will enable us to support current and future customers even more efficiently. Thanks to its favourable geographical location, excellent transport links, and EU membership, Ireland serves as a key gateway between Europe, North America and the UK. We are delighted to enter this dynamic market under our own name and look forward to continuing our cooperation with AirOcean Ireland.”
Garrett O’Brien, founder and director of AirOcean Ireland, will take on the role of Managing Director for Röhlig Ireland. His association with Röhlig dates back to the 1980s when he joined the company in Australia and later worked in New Zealand, contributing to the growth of the Asia-Pacific region. In 1997, he returned to Ireland to establish AirOcean Ireland. Garrett O’Brien states:
