Rhenus Road Freight launches dedicated domestic distribution service in UK

The road freight business unit of the Rhenus Group has launched a dedicated UK domestic distribution service. Tailored for all freight types, the move strengthens the company’s existing portfolio of international road freight and charter services.

The dedicated service allows customers to transport all freight types, including oversized loads, UK-wide. The launch follows a highly successful pilot phase among a selected customer base, with customers benefiting from simplified operations.

The service uses both Rhenus-owned trucks (available at Corby and Bradford) and subcontracted vehicles managed by the Rhenus Group (available from Cannock). Scalable fleet options will be tailored to volume requirements.

Customers are able to book unlimited, multiple pallets via the portal, with full track-and-trace capabilities. Live customer service support is available.

The move follows the recent appointment of Marion Simpson as Managing Director, Rhenus Road Freight UK. Simpson previously served as Rhenus Road Freight UK’s Commercial Director. The launch complements the Rhenus Group’s plans to future-proof the organisation, drive sustainable growth, and deliver tailored logistics solutions to meet the diverse needs of its global customer base.

“This launch is an exciting milestone for the Rhenus Group, reflecting our commitment both to innovation and to our customers,” Simpson explained.

“We pride ourselves on high levels of service support, tailored to each customer, rather than one-size-fits-all automation. The feedback we have received during the pilot phase of this launch has been excellent. We’re continually reviewing how to make our customers’ logistics operations smoother and simpler, helping them achieve greater efficiency and profitability.”
