The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) has presented Jamie Hartles, CEO of Howard Tenens Logistics, as the recipient of the UKWA Chairman’s Award. The UKWA Awards for Excellence, held annually, celebrate outstanding achievements within the logistics sector.

The Chairman’s award is an award given to those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in the industry. These are qualities that Jamie has consistently proven to embody over the years.

Michael Thomas, Client Services Director at Delamode International Logistics & Chairman of the UK Warehousing Association, said:

“Jamie is a ‘people’ person, leading from the front, encouraging and supporting colleagues in being the best they can be; he is committed to employee engagement and well-being, and goes out of his way to ensure all his team members feel valued, and see opportunity for development and promotion.”

His journey with Howard Tenens began almost 18 years ago when he joined as a Commercial Assistant straight out of university. Starting in a junior position allowed him to gain comprehensive experience across various areas of the business, including commercial management, sales, marketing and operations.

Currently, Jamie oversees the logistics activities of the business. As a key member of the Group Board, Jamie contributes to the governance of the Howard Tenens Group of Companies, which encompasses diverse interests. Within the logistics domain, he collaborates with the Logistics Board to set the vision and strategic direction, ensuring operations are safe and aligned with the company’s values. Howard Tenens prides itself on being a quality-focused, independent family business that delivers mutual value through great people, collaboration, and technology.

 Jamie said:

“Life is full of surprises, but to be awarded the accolade of the Chairman’s Award at the amazing UK Warehousing Association awards was one of the biggest and most humbling I’ve ever experienced.

“I’d like to thank all my colleagues at Howard Tenens Logistics for making this possible, as well as our amazing clients and suppliers who provide so much support to us as we continue to create a sustainable, quality focussed business, delivering mutual value to everyone who works for us and with us.”
