EV Cargo has acquired ten new Volvo FH with I-Save 6x2 tractor units to accelerate its carbon reduction aims. The new arrivals are the first Volvos delivered to the company’s Ashby de la Zouch depot in Leicestershire in more than two decades.

The new trucks are powered by Euro 6-compliant D13TC Step E engines, producing 460 hp and a peak torque of 2,600 Nm. The turbo compound technology adds an extra turbine after the turbocharger to reuse excess energy from the exhausts.

This energy is then converted to torque directly on the crankshaft, providing a powerful and extremely fuel-efficient engine. The vehicles are expected to clock-up around 160,000 km a year.
