COSCO SHIPPING Crystal Logistics (UK) Co., Ltd., the long-established logistics subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING (UK) Co., Ltd., has opened a new 11,000-square-metre flagship warehouse in the London Gateway Freeport. The new warehouse is a milestone in the development of COSCO SHIPPING's digital supply chain logistics in the UK.
In recent years, COSCO SHIPPING UK has actively implemented the strategic deployment of COSCO SHIPPING Europe, seized market opportunities, and has brought into play the company's advantages.
COSCO SHIPPING UK has been engaged in container ship owning in Britain and in liner agency, warehousing, distribution, customs clearance, and, increasingly, in supply chain management, playing a positive role in serving British enterprises and promoting China-UK economic and trade cooperation. Crystal Logistics has made solid progress, gaining a good reputation in the UK construction logistics market, and making progress in the new Amazon transhipment service, e-commerce, concert logistics, European transportation and related activities.
Martin Beadle, General Manager of Crystal Logistics, said that in the future, the plan is to fully utilise the resource advantages of the new warehouse in London Gateway and its Freeport status, continue to strengthen and optimise the existing construction logistics, warehousing and distribution businesses, further develop ETSF cross-border e-commerce and LCL business, expand market share, and build Crystal’s logistics sector into an important pillar of COSCO SHIPPING (UK) Co., Ltd.
London Gateway Port is located on the north bank of the Thames in Essex, 48 kilometres east of central London. It is the second largest and the most technologically advanced container port in Britain, with a current annual throughput of more than 1.8 million TEUs. Located in the port area, Crystal Logistics’ new warehouse is international Grade A standards, equipped with modern smart warehouse facilities, and sufficient HGV parking spaces and general parking spaces outside. Being a secure customs site within Freeport enables its clients to benefit from the simplified customs procedures and the payment of tariffs to be delayed or avoided.
