CNS links customs processes across ports and airports

Digital trade enabler CNS (Community Network Services), a DP World company, has enhanced its customs management system to integrate with CCS UK, the electronic system that connects the UK air cargo community. The integration came into effect on 14th February 2024.

This adds to CNS’ comprehensive suite of services, now covering all trade frontiers – land, air, and sea. The integration is set to transform how customs brokers manage their operations in the United Kingdom.

CNS’ centralised digital platform will consolidate all customer activities in the UK into a single, intuitive interface, streamlining the movement of goods throughout the country’s trade ecosystem. Linking directly with CCS – the UK’s pre-existing electronic air cargo community – the platform offers increased efficiency, flexibility, and access to airlines, transit shared operators, and customs brokers, making it easier for them to declare inventory-linked goods.

Matthew Bradley, Managing Director at CNS said:

“Our platform is constantly evolving to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Our integration with CCS UK is the final piece of the puzzle, fostering greater visibility and collaboration across the customs network to boost regulatory compliance and lock in more value. With the support of DP World’s considerable standing in trade and logistics, we have applied our experience and feedback from customers across the industry to offer peace of mind to our users, championing security and ease of use to keep trade flowing.

“CNS has received overwhelmingly positive feedback so far, particularly for its error identification and resolution capabilities. This reaffirms our commitment to always deliver industry-leading software solutions that simplify trade across the UK.”

CNS’ Customs Management System is a proprietary technology that offers a user-friendly and mobile-accessible interface for simplified customs declaration and management. For existing users such as shipping lines, the CCS UK integration will centralise air, ocean, and land markets, streamlining the art of regulation compliance. It now offers CCS UK inventory-linked declarations, providing a unified view of statuses across both CCS UK and Customs Declaration Service dashboards.

The enhanced CNS system offers customers a complete solution to manage declarations successfully. It includes automatic alerts to declaration discrepancies with helpful remedial prompts. Additionally, it features customisable dashboards, quick search options, and the ability to view multi-level consignments and declare goods across multiple airports. With these user-friendly enhancements, errors and data entry time are greatly reduced, giving customers the ability to complete their declaration tasks faster and more efficiently.
