Breeze teams up with CocoonFMS

Online insurance platform Breeze has announced a new partnership with digital freight management specialists CocoonFMS at the Multimodal exhibition.

The API integration will cut the time freight forwarders spend securing cargo insurance from hours to seconds by enabling users of CocoonOPS, CocoonFMS’ transportation management system, to receive instant quotes within their existing workflow.

Live shipment data is sent to Breeze to generate quotes, allowing users to confirm policies instantly.

“Freight moves fast, but for too long cargo insurance has lagged behind,” said Matthew Phillips, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Breeze.

“We built Breeze to work with forwarders, tear down the blocks in their workflow, and free them to focus on what they do best – keeping the world on the move.

“This strategic integration with CocoonFMS delivers exactly that.”

The Breeze platform uses AI to assess risks, underwrite policies, and process claims instantly.

CocoonOPS also employs AI and machine learning to streamline quotations, invoicing, tracking, and customs processes in one portal.

"We built CocoonOPS to simplify freight management,” said James Blackman, Co-Founder, CocoonFMS.

“Adding Breeze’s instant insurance quoting is just another step towards eliminating the inefficiencies that plague the industry.

“Our goal has always been to put real tools in the hands of freight forwarders. This one saves hours of admin per week.”

Breeze and CocoonFMS are both attended the Multimodal exhibition last week, where Phillips’ fellow Co-Founder, Eyal Goldberg, spoke about the impact of AI on the logistics industry and its disruptive effect on the cargo insurance market.

The new integration follows a major vote of confidence in Breeze by leading global insurers Helvetia and Baloise earlier this year.
