5G deployed at Ports of Felixstowe and Harwich

Hutchison Ports (UK) has successfully completed the roll-out of a single private 5G network across the Port of Felixstowe and Harwich International Port.

It is one of the UK’s largest private 5G networks, providing fast, reliable and secure communication and control systems for a wide range of traditionally driven and fully autonomous operational vehicles and equipment.

The use of 5G provides greater bandwidth and reduced latency allowing the ports to expand their use of technology in remote-control and automated/autonomous pieces of equipment simultaneously and with greater reliability. It also provides opportunities to enhance and deploy new technologies to help meet our customers’ requirements.
