Bristol Port has been named the ‘top international port’ by Grimaldi Lines at the 22nd Euromed Convention in Athens.
The accolade from Grimaldi Lines recognises the growth of Bristol Port – particularly in the car trade sector – and the Italian carrier also has praise for Bristol’s services and management.
Emanuele Grimaldi, CEO, said:
“Bristol was one of the UK's fastest growing ports over the last 20 years. It has become one of the main players in the ro-ro market, particularly for the import and export of vehicles.
The quality and competitiveness of its services and the excellent connection to its hinterland have been possible thanks to sound and farsighted management of the Bristol Port Company.”
The port currently handles 750,000 vehicles per annum. It is hoped that trade will be further enhanced after the recent trip of Tony Dent, director of automotive, and Jonathan Mordaunt, commercial director, to meet key customers in Japan and Korea
