No alternative text provided

Just published, the 2017 edition of the UK Short Sea Freight RoRo and LoLo Capacity Analysis and Report reveals that the combined amount of freight RoRo and LoLo vessel capacity employed serving the UK market at the end of 2017 stands at an annual equivalent of 16.4 million units (trailers and FEU).

This represents an increase of 3.7% compared to the capacity serving the market in May 2016, an 18-month development period. The overall increase in capacity of 592,210 units is roughly equivalent to four additional daily freight RoRo ferry / LoLo container services, each with a 200-unit capacity, serving the UK market.

Market sectors covered:-

All scheduled RoRo ferry and container services calling at UK mainland ports destined to the European Continent, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Baltic divided into five sub-sectors: UK/Continent, UK/Channel (France, Spain, Portugal), UK/Ireland, UK/Scandinavia and UK/Baltic.

This Fifteenth Annual Edition of the report provides a full evaluation of current UK RoRo ferry and LoLo container service capacity in the Short Sea market.

The report highlights market changes in the period since 2016, when the last UK Report was published, and traces market development over the last seventeen years, with developments planned for 2018 and 2019 also identified.

In this 2017 Report there is also a ‘Market Features’ section that provides a review of UK Coastal Feeder Capacity, an assessment of UK North East ports RoRo berth utilisation and an assessment of capacity and capacity development that could be relevant to supply chain development post-Brexit.

With detailed appendices, the Report provides a comprehensive overview and assessment of the UK’s unit load shipping service connections to help companies assess concentrations of capacity supply and the best routes to market.

The report examines how the market has changed and developed and how capacity is being adapted to meet changing demand. Market capacity is assessed by geographic sector, route, port and service to pinpoint capacity shares and areas of growth and contraction.

Further insight into the report and analysis, including the comprehensive database of information, contained in the full 150-page UK Short Sea Freight RoRo and LoLo Capacity Analysis and Report 2017, can be obtained from Peter Baker at PRB Associates Limited.

Ideal for business review, strategy development and international supply chain assessment the UK Capacity Report provides a perfect benchmark and planning tool to compare company performances and prepare for future activity development.

The price of the 2017 Capacity Report, in PDF electronic format is £500, with additional hard copy Report available for £25 each, to cover production and postage costs.
