Ariaen Zimmerman is the Executive Director of Cargo iQ, whose global membership work together to measure success and continuously improve the value of airfreight for customers.  He was educated in the UK, US, and the Netherlands and began his career in aviation with Polar Air Cargo, where he managed Global Accounts for over four years.  After running his own change management consultancy TCEN, Ariaen brought his expertise to Saudi Airlines, where he initiated and lead their Key Account Department as Director Global Key Accounts.  Ariaen took up the role of Executive Director role at Cargo iQ in July 2015 and has driven the IATA interest group’s change programme which has included the preparation of a new industry standard audit and certification scheme.

David Wells is the Chief Executive of the Freight Transport Association (FTA) representing industry’s freight interests by road, rail, sea and air. The FTA has over 14,000 members who operate more than 220,000 goods vehicles (half of the UK fleet) consign over 90 per cent of freight moved by rail and 70 percent of sea and air freight.  David joined the FTA in April 2009 as Finance and IT Director; subsequently taking on additional responsibility for the Association’s Vehicle Inspection Service, Training and the Tachograph Analysis Service.  Having completed an Engineering Degree in Liverpool, David then studied for membership of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, qualifying in November 1993 whilst working in industry. His career has centred around engineering and service businesses and has both European and North American finance and operations experience.

Robert Jervis, Portfolio Director of Multimodal has been organising transport and logistics events since 1988! As Event Director at Cargo Systems, and later at Informa, Robert has organised the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, South Africa, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, the US, Mexico, Panama and Chile.

Peter MacSwiney is the Chairman of Agency Sector Management (ASM), where he has been working since 1997. His role is split between commercial and representative activities. Peter is the co-chair of the Joint Customs Consultative Committee (JCCC) Brexit Sub Group and one of two non-governmental members on the Customs Declarations Services (CDS) Programme Board.

Dave Howorth is Executive Director at SCALA Consulting Group a specialist and independent Supply Chain Consultancy business where he personally focusses on the Food & Drink sector . Dave has been a Supply Chain professional for more than 30 years. Starting his career in logistics within both 3rd party and own account environments working for & with businesses such as Mars, Pepsico and Comet, before developing into broader and more senior Supply Chain roles notably with General Mills one of the world’s largest food business where he was Supply Chain Director Northern Europe.

Stephen Carr, Commercial Director, Peel Ports - Liverpool joined Peel Ports in 2009 as Head of Business Development for the Mersey Division before moving to Head of Commercial Strategy in 2013. In this role, Stephen has lead a team responsible for providing the group with market insights, analysis and an assessment of strategic opportunities,across all of its locations and commodity groups including energy, liquids, unitised trade and bulks.Stephen is currently Commercial Director.During his time with Peel Ports, Stephen has played  a leading role in strategic projects including the development of Liverpool2, the growth in the use of the Manchester Ship Canal(as a multimodal logistics hub), and the development of port-centric warehousing throughout North-west England.Prior to joining Peel Ports, Stephen had a career in the energy and logistics sectors with BP and TDG.
