Quality Freight UK, part of the Peel Ports Group, has partnered with Collett & Sons to move 27 wind turbines to the Clocaenog Forest project site in Wales.

According to Quality Freight, the turbines were delivered to its Ellesmere Port facility across 12 shipments. They were then lifted on to trailers for onward delivery to the wind farm, which is being developed by Innogy.

Quality Freight UK’s managing director Sebastian Gardiner said:

“In this particular case, we were working closely with our client Collett to ensure that the cargo was delivered on time to the end customer.”

Quality Freight UK provides chartering and port services from its 40 acre (16.2 ha) multimodal facility in Ellesmere Port. Peel Ports acquired the company in May 2019 for an undisclosed amount.

At the time, Mark Whitworth, chief executive of Peel Ports Group, said that the acquisition formed part of “our strategy to be a leading UK provider of port centric logistics solutions.”
