Jeremy Nixon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ocean Network Express (ONE) picked up the Multimodal 2019 Personality of the Year award, at the awards evening last night.

Birmingham UK, Wednesday 19th June 2019 – Jeremy Nixon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ocean Network Express (ONE) picked up the Multimodal 2019 Personality of the Year award, at the awards evening last night.
DHL Global Forwarding, Freightliner, and DSV were also winners at the event, which was attended by over 680 guests on the first day of Multimodal 2019.
“To receive the Multimodal Personality of the Year Award is a real honour,” said Nixon.
“Change is a constant in logistics, and although there has been an overall slowdown in container shipping this year, the market will pick up in the medium term.”
Nixon was awarded the accolade by a judging panel comprising the Multimodal selection group and 2018 winner, Chris Lewis, Managing Director DP World and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of London Gateway.
“Jeremy Nixon oversaw the merger of three companies to create ONE, which has now become one of the biggest names in container shipping, and the award recognises his significant contributions to the industry,” said Rob Jervis, Logistics Portfolio Director, Clarion Events.
Kuehne + Nagel scooped two awards, 3PL of the Year Award and the Multimodal 2019 Exhibitor of the year award.
“At Multimodal we are proud to recognise industry achievement and particularly champion young achievers in our industry,” said Jervis.
Craig Bickley from Maritime Transport Ltd for the Logistics Young Professional of the Year Award that recognises emerging talent in the industry, and was voted on by a panel of seven judges.
“Craig has set his sights on a career in the industry and he has an impressive career trajectory and passion,” said Annie Roberts, Commercial Manager, Heavy Lift & Project Magazine, who was one of the judges for the award.
Thousands of FTA members and readers of the Multimodal Newsletter voted for the modal, port, 3PL, and pallet network awards.
The awards ceremony also featured a charity auction for the naming rights of an Eddie Stobart tractor unit, and all proceeds from the winning bid, which totalled £1,750, will go to transport charity Transaid.
