Naomi Landman joins Groen-in’t-Woud to drive Damco’s growth and digitalisation strategy in 2020 to deliver seamless services to customers
Saskia Groen-in’t-Woud, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Damco, has appointed Naomi Landman as Head of Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Network Strategy to drive growth in 2020.

The Netherlands-based freight forwarder will continue to diversify its service offerings, developing new air cargo solutions, investing in further digitalisation projects, and opening new facilities.

“We have done our homework and spent time understanding what our customers really want, refining our service offering, and bringing in the best people for its delivery,” said Groen-in’t-Woud.

Groen-in’t-Woud took the helm at Damco a year ago to run the freight forwarder as an independent and separate business from its parent company A.P. Moller - Maersk.

Groen-in’t-Woud has extensive experience in senior management roles at Damco, including Global Chief Operating Officer and Chief Operating Officer Asia.

Landman brings two-decades of forwarding experience and air freight expertise in senior management roles, most recently as Managing Director at GEFCO Netherlands.

“We are looking into a variety of verticals to build on from our strong background in retail, as we continue to grow our customer portfolio,” said Landman.

“Damco is not a B2B company, we are a people to people company, we focus on building strong relationships with our clients, suppliers, and employees.”

In 2020, Damco will continue its digitalisation strategy, which includes the Damco app that allows the customer service team to monitor customer inventory across the supply chain, enabling real-time reactions to any weather events or global unrest that is taking place.

“We have put in place a solid digitalisation strategy that is optimising business and operational processes to maintain and continue to develop our customer service offering and our Business Resilience Programme,” said Groen-in't-Woud.

Damco’s Business Resilience Programme identifies, assesses, categorises, and records every risk to ensure that the customers’ product continues its journey along the entire supply chain.

“Where we differentiate ourselves at Damco is our people-focussed approach to everything that we do, in order to deliver the best possible customer service,” added Groen-in’t-Woud
