Howard Tenens, one of the UK’s largest privately-owned logistics companies is continuing to reinvest in its core fleet with the acquisition of five new Mercedes tractor units.
Howard Tenens’ Birstall operation has just taken receipt of the five brand new “Euro 6” standard tractor units as part of the company’s ongoing commitments to reduce the average age of the fleet, provide staff with the finest equipment and introduce technologies and processes: improving fuel efficiency and safety for all stakeholders. The new vehicles are now the safest within the Howard Tenens fleet and boast such features as Active Brake Assist 4, driver airbags and JOST coupling sensed fifth wheels.
Richard Philpotts – National Fleet and Compliance Manager at Howard Tenens comments:
“Driver safety along with operating efficiency is paramount to Howard Tenens and to be able to offer our drivers a vehicle with the latest safety equipment as standard really encompasses the Howard Tenens ethos which is that our people are the most important aspect of our business.”
Howard Tenens purchased the new vehicles from Northside for an undisclosed fee, Phillpotts goes on to comment:
“Northside offer an excellent service level locally for Howard Tenens and their commitment to top quality service makes Northside an excellent partner for replacement vehicles.”
Tony Birtwistle from Northside comments:
“Northside with Mercedes Benz offer a complete package for all Mercedes Benz commercial vehicles. Howard Tenens have taken advantage of Mercedes Benz latest range with the additional factory options including the enhanced safety package with Active braking 4 and PPC. Both offer extra safety measures and improved fuel savings, we are confident that we will also offer the very best service level and hope to continue a long working relationship with HT.”
Howard Tenens has continued to invest in its fleet in recent years, with a number of dedicated gas vehicles that are currently in operation following a government backed trial for low emissions, highlighting the company’s sustained commitment to reducing their impact on carbon emissions.
