Kinaxia Logistics acquires Mark Thompson Transport

Kinaxia Logistics has announced that it has acquired Mark Thompson Transport Limited based at Warrington, Cheshire.

Mark Thompson Transport Limited is the eighth acquisition for Kinaxia Logistics. Other companies within Kinaxia Logistics include Bay Freight Limited, William Kirk Limited, NC Cammack & Sons Limited, Foulger Transport Limited, Lambert Brothers Haulage Limited, Panic Transport (Contracts) Limited and Maiden’s of Telford Limited.

Mark Thompson Transport was formed in 1989 and has seen substantial growth in recent years built on its high levels of customer focus, reliable cost effective service and use of state-of-the-art technology. It has a strong customer base including long-standing relationships with such companies as Hermes, DX, TNT and Victoria Plum. The company currently employs around 160 staff and has a fleet of 153 vehicles.

Mark Thompson Transport Limited is another successful and highly respected company to join the Kinaxia Group. It is focused on the through-the-night logistics and supply-chain sector work and will provide a base for Kinaxia to further develop in this sector across the UK as well as enhancing Kinaxia’s existing coverage and service levels. They share the same customer-service culture and aspirations as the existing Kinaxia companies and, as with all previous Kinaxia acquisitions, all staff will be retained. It is anticipated that Mark Thompson Transport Limited’s growth will be further accelerated by maintaining its existing high levels of customer service whilst extending its reach by working with the other Kinaxia companies.

Managing Director, Mark Thompson commented:

“We have seen substantial growth over the last five years and are delighted to be joining Kinaxia Logistics. It provides the perfect solution to the question of how to expand and develop our business whilst maintaining the excellent customer service levels that are in our DNA. This establishes a secure future for the business and we are excited about accessing new opportunities for growth.”

Kinaxia Logistics Director, Peter Fields commented:

“Mark Thompson Transport Limited are another excellent company who have decided that becoming part of Kinaxia is the best way of continuing their growth whilst securing a future for their business and employees. We are delighted that Mark will be continuing in his role as well as joining the Kinaxia management team to help us extend his overnight logistics business model across the group. We anticipate making further investments in the next 12 months and these will be in line with our aim to build a flexible and efficient, service-focused haulage and warehousing group covering the UK.”

Kinaxia Logistics is a UK haulage and warehouse company that was formed in 2012 with the acquisition of Bay Freight Limited. Since then, with the addition of Mark Thompson Transport, it has acquired a total of eight companies. The vision of Kinaxia Logistics is to build a flexible and efficient, service-focused, haulage and warehousing group through investment in, and partnership with, medium-sized, profitable, growing privately owned companies across the UK. Kinaxia maintains the local identity of companies that join the group but implements common systems and processes at an operational level. As a result, Kinaxia companies form part of a family that works together with a core purpose of enhancing customer service and increasing efficiency. Taking into account this latest acquisition, Kinaxia has 1,040 staff with a total turnover of £ 95 million/year. It operates 600 vehicles and has 925,000 square foot of warehouse space.
