BWI Group extends partnership with GEFCO UK

GEFCO UK and BWI Group have announced the renewal of their partnership for a further two years. GEFCO UK provides complete inbound European supply for manufacture in Luton, UK which enables BWI Group to maintain 24 hour operations.

GEFCO UK’s relationship with BWI Group, a premier chassis supplier that designs and manufactures brake and suspension systems for the global transportation market, began in 2010. Today, GEFCO UK provides daily groupage, Less than Truck Load (LTL) and Full Truck Load (FTL) delivery services from suppliers in Germany, Poland, Portugal, France, Spain and the UK into the BWI Group plant in Luton.

As single service provider and an expert in the Automotive Logistics sector, GEFCO UK has also started operational workshops with the BWI Group to further develop efficiencies on routes and network planning. This is paired with the use of GEFCO’s integrated network for shipments via the EuroDailyService that enables strong support for the increase in inbound volumes into the UK. Additional services can also be provided should any changes in BWI Group’s supplier base come into effect across Europe.

Tomasz Dziewiecki, European Production Control and Logistics Manager from BWI Group commented on the partnership,

“We are a growing business and recognise GEFCO UK as being the perfect partner to assist us in our operational developments within European networks. We have been very pleased with the services GEFCO UK has provided in the last five years and as such we are delighted to renew their contract for another two years.”

James Worthington, Key Account Manager for GEFCO UK, said:

“We are of course delighted that BWI Group has chosen to renew our partnership. The relationship between our two companies is very strong, and we hope it will continue for many years as their ambitions for growth mirrors our own. We aim to continue delivering the excellent customer service and highest level of support BWI has become accustomed to.”

GEFCO UK has also appointed a new head of HR to oversee its UK operations. Emma-Louise Forsythe, who joined the company in January 2015, brings with her a specialist background in implementing coaching and development initiatives, and comes to GEFCO from global logistics firm Morrisons, where she held the position of Senior HR Business Partner.

Emma-Louise has a wealth of experience of developing a “high performance” culture and shaping flexible reward strategies in line with market and business requirements. She brings this expertise and a very pragmatic and results-orientated approach to her new role at GEFCO.

Emma-Louise welcomes the exciting challenge that her new position brings, and will work closely with the rest of the Senior Management Team to develop and implement a robust organisational design and help deliver the best service possible for customers.

Under Emma-Louise’s watch, GEFCO UK will continue to grow its own UK Apprenticeship Programme to identify and attract the best and brightest interested in a career in a global supply chain company.

Emma-Louise said of her appointment:

“I am thrilled to be joining GEFCO, my goal is to help people in the business maximise their potential, and at the same time bring as much new talent as possible into the company. A particular focus is to attract bright young school leavers to GEFCO by offering them an unparalleled opportunity to learn on the job through both our new apprenticeship and internship initiatives.”

Tristan Balayn, Managing Director of GEFCO UK adds:

“These are exciting times for GEFCO and it is vitally important that we have the talent and skills within our workforce to capitalise on every opportunity to drive the business forward.  Emma-Louise brings with her a wealth of expertise and experience, and exemplifies the values that GEFCO stands for, and will ensure a level of continuity to the business which means we will be able to achieve our goals.”
