Doncaster Sheffield Airport has been helping to ensure that consumers still get their biscuits following a national shortage. The airport's cargo team welcomed two Boeing B777 aircraft full of biscuits into the region earlier this month.
Dayle Hauxwell, DSA's Cargo Manager, said:
"There has been a lot of press coverage about Britain's biscuit shortage following the floods in December 2015, and we are pleased to hear that the factories hope to be up and running again this month. In the meantime, we were delighted to welcome two flights from Emirates full of the nation's favourite biscuits."
These flights were also the first to be operated by Emirates Skycargo to DSA. The airport, also known as Robin Hood, handled the most freight ever last year since it opened. DSA also registered an increase in large movements including B747s, AN225 and AN124s.
