Stobart submits plans for new UK distribution hub
Stobart Group is to create 370 jobs with the construction of a distribution centre next to the current Tesco site in Parnwell Way, Peterborough. The logistics company has submitted plans to Peterborough City Council for a distribution warehouse covering 21,832 m2 and up to 15.5 metres high.
Three-quarters of the space will form a chilled area served by 10 HGV docking bays and the remaining space used as a general warehouse with 11 HGV docking bays. There are also plans for a service yard for around 50 HGV trailer spaces, a 300-space car park and an extra two storey office block. It has also been revealed that part of the Company’s plans mean the creation of a further 100 jobs to seasonal workers at the warehouse.
