World Transport Agency Limited is a successful, family owned business established in 1913. We specialise in the provision of added value to major importers and exporters through a range of quality products and services across all transport modes. Our ethos is to be client led and provide services tailored to our customer’s requirements. All our systems are designed to be flexible and adaptable.

We operate through 6 prime locations in UK, USA and Hong Kong, each managed by a local Director, reporting to the Managing Director.

All the directors are hands on and 4 of them have over 25 years service with the company.

This structure means our decision making is fast and flexible as we are not subject to an anonymous corporate policy.

The company has developed from traditional freight forwarding to freight management and is now a leading specialist in this field.

Freight management provides a one stop shop facility with carriers and other suppliers appointed by mutual agreement with our customers and based on the best optimum of pricing and service.

Our costs and profit are recovered through service fees and we are not dependent on freight rebates, kickbacks or suchlike. This avoids the need to support specific carriers and provides the greatest flexibility and choice for our clients.

Our products and services have been recognised through many awards received from the British International Freight Association (BIFA). We are one of the first forwarding companies to have been awarded the UK government initiative; Investor in People status (IIP) and we continue to maintain that accreditation. We won the ‘Best Family Business’ award from Coutts Bank in 2006 and in 2009 been awarded Star Status in the Best Companies Awards.

We operate through small teams of people dedicated to handling the needs of specific clients. We maintain a rigorous training programme and ensure that all team members are properly crossed skilled.

Each team is headed by a Team Manager who is responsible to manage the team and their workflow. The Team Managers report to Commercial Managers who are responsible for the achievement of service excellence for our clients through the application and monitoring of standards and quality control. The Commercial Managers report to the local Directors.

We continually invest in our systems and we are at the leading edge of providing technical solutions to our market sector. This includes client intranet sites, track and trace, full order management, financial analysis, performance analysis and electronic freight calculators all available over the web or integrated with our client’s systems. In addition, systems are fully integrated with Customs and port authorities.

We are a founding member of Certified Transportation Network (CTN), a global network of like minded, professional and financially secure forwarders chosen for their abilities in their represented areas.
