The Shippers’ Voice has been established as an independent networking site, primarily for shippers, but also for all others involved in the transport and logistics industry

With the challenges and changes ahead, companies big and small should be looking to establish and strengthen their knowledge and expertise that can be found in shippers. They are needed to forge closer relationships and trust with the carriers that will steer both parties through the difficult and challenging times ahead.

Most minds today are focussed on the market which is being shaped by the current economic climate. It is at times of adversity that closer operational collaboration has greatest effect. Collaboration can only truly happen with understanding of the issues and different perspectives on those issues.

The freight industry is changing: there is a new era of potentially greater cooperation between shippers and carriers. Shippers and carriers, and their representatives (agents, logistics service providers, brokers etc.), will have to work more closely together on a broader range of issues to help improve efficiency in the supply chain. But in order to find the best way forward shippers and their needs must be understood better, and shippers must understand and know the issues which confront the freight transport industry.
