Multimodal a haven for Great Yarmouth
PSA UK East Terminal Ltd will operate a short-sea and feeder terminal at Great Yarmouth, UK. The terminal is expected to be operational in second half of 2009. When fully operational, the terminal will have 400 m quay length and 500 000 TEU capacity.
PSA UK East Terminal will offer its customers a tailor made, congestion free solution to enter the UK. The port of Great Yarmouth is well-connected to the hinterland (Midlands region).
PSA UK East Terminal is a joint venture between PSA International and International Port Holdings. PSA International is one of the leading global port groups. With its flagship operations in PSA Singapore Terminals and PSA HNN, PSA participates in 28 port projects in 16 countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas, with a global capacity of 111 million TEUs over 66 km of quay length.
International Port Holdings was formed by Alistair Baillie (previously Chief Operating Officer of P&O’s international port division) and Eliza O’Toole (whose city legal career was major infrastructure, strategic project and regeneration focused). IPH’s strategy is to purchase and invest in smaller port operating assets on a global basis with strong growth prospects, and in some cases, potential for development.
